Ask LaMont: Consider ensemble with footless tights
Monday, November 03, 2008
Q: Can middle-age women wear those footless tights?

A: Footless tights are one of those fashion trends that depend more on an individual than her age, per se. An important factor is what is worn with the tights and whether the clothes complement the overall look, including hair and shoes. Many of the looks worn with footless tights look better on more youthful women on the thin side. But some women who are 50 look youthful, right? If you're going to try it, consider color and print. For example, I can envision a more mature, thin brunette with a short haircut wearing black footless tights with a black turtleneck sweater, a short and fitted black pencil skirt and black booties.
