Supermodel-turned-eco-pitchwoman Cheryl Tiegs isn't the only speaker/entertainer at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show. A "Wall Wizard" and "Renegade Gardener" from HGTV will appear each day of the 10-day show as will the CAPA House Band of jazz musicians.
Brian Santos is known as the "Wall Wizard" on HGTV's "Smart Solutions" for the creative and impressive effects he creates with paint and wallpaper. Mr. Santos, a fourth-generation artist and contractor, will appear in the second-floor Home Interiors area at 6 and 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 1 and 4 p.m. Sundays.
Don Engebretson, the "Renegade Gardener," aims to dispel myths, including that landscaping projects are easy or that any plant is foolproof. His topics include: "Top 10 Gardening & Landscaping Blunders -- And How to Avoid Them," "Yes You Can! Landscape Design for Homeowners," and "Crafting Cool & Creative Containers."
He will appear at the home show in the first-floor Garden Pavilion at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at noon, 3 and 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon and 3 p.m. Sundays.
Gretchen McKay, PG food and homes writer, will be cooking in the Dream Home kitchen on the second floor at 1 p.m. today and next Saturday.
The CAPA House Band, jazz musicians from the city's High School for Creative and Performing Arts, will again perform near a re-creation of the famous Crawford Grill. This year, the stage will be in the second-floor lobby. The students will perform at 6:30 and 8 p.m. weekdays, 3 and 5 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 and 3 p.m. Sundays.
