Penn State Fayette chooses interim chancellor

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, has named an interim chancellor due to the death of Chancellor Emmanuel I. Osagie.

As of March 22, the interim chancellor will be Francis Achampong, chief academic officer at Penn State Mont Alto.

The Fayette campus is planning a memorial service, open to the public, in honor of Dr. Osagie from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Maggie Hardy Magerko Auditorium in the Community Center of the campus. There will be a reception after the service.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. next Friday at Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown.

Dr. Osagie, 58, who was chancellor for about three years, died unexpectedly Tuesday of complications from an illness.
