A Westmoreland County motorcyclist was killed Monday night when another struck him from behind, the county coroner's office said.

Anthony Markitell, 44, of Jeannette, was heading west on Route 30 near Village Drive in Unity when he was struck just before 7 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Latrobe Hospital at 7:10 p.m., the coroner's office said.

State police in Greensburg, who are investigating the crash, did not release further details.
