Pirates recalling Morton to start tomorrow

MILWAUKEE -- The Pirates will recall Charlie Morton from Class AAA Indianapolis to start the game tomorrow against the Milwaukee Brewers, as had been expected for most of the week.

In 14 starts for Indianapolis, Morton was 4-4 with a 3.83 ERA, 53 strikeouts and 30 walks in 80 innings.

In 10 starts for the Pirates before being demoted in late May, Morton was 1-9 with a 9.35 ERA.

To clear space on the 25-man roster, reliever Justin Thomas was optioned back to Indianapolis.
